Vancouver’s Hollywood mansion in the Sky

Movie star lists $12,880,000 executive listing with realtors Mark and Stacy Raymond of The Raymond Group

By Jamie Daw | September 7, 2010

The picturesque North Shore Mountains and the stunning Coal Harbour waterfront are two of the many spectacular views this 7450-square-foot, veritable mansion in the sky offers. Designed and built for a Hollywood star, every detail including its 360-degree views of Vancouver allows the owner of this property to enjoy living life like a celebrity. State-of-the-art audio/video and automated blackouts on every window ensure that your privacy is upheld in every way.

With the incredible attention to detail and workmanship, having a suite of this size is very unique to Vancouver. “It is important to note that this entire floor was bought as a single shell — it was not four suites that were converted to one,” explains Mark Raymond of The Raymond Group. “And as a result, every detail and design was made with that in mind.” With views to the west overlooking Stanley Park, and southbound to downtown and UBC, this mansion truly shows off Vancouver in an exclusive light that most will never see. “The views are true 360 degrees, which is very rare; it’s only one of a limited number of full floor suites in Vancouver,” explains Mark. “The views from the 41st floor make them unique given the height, as you are overlooking the adjacent lower buildings.”

Computerized lighting, touch-screen controls for all functions, and its open floor plan allow you to live in this great space comfortably. “It’s designed with a restrained modern elegance, unlike anything I’ve seen in Vancouver,” explains Stacy Raymond. “Its luxurious and open floor plan invites the owner to entertain very intimate parties or large gatherings. The minute you walk through the beautiful front doors you realize that there is nothing typical about this home.” All the materials and appliances used to create this space were of the highest quality, and attention to details ensured that the space was movie star-approved.

“The buyer for this magnificent home will have very discerning tastes and will only be satisfied with the best,” explains Stacy. Mark adds, “Stacy and I sell specifically luxury condominiums in Vancouver and we are having our strongest year ever. In the last five weeks, we have sold two condos in the $4-million range, both to local Vancouver residents. We have a number of sales over $2 million this year and we just entered into negotiations for a client on the purchase of a downtown condo for over $7 million.” As the real estate market in Vancouver has started its rebound and the condo market for downtown property is getting hotter and hotter, an ideal buyer is an international executive who owns several residences worldwide. “I believe the buyer of this suite already owns three or four luxury residences and we’ve already had a few prospective clients come back for second views,” explains Mark. •
