Lifestyle stylist Steven MacLeod's step by step spring makeup lesson
It surprises me when my girlfriends say they have no clue about putting on their makeup or don’t know how to
change a look they have been wearing for years. So, this is my friend Paige and she’s going to help me
demonstrate a basic look that anyone can wear or adapt to their own personal taste. Keep your eyes open for
hints that I hope will help make your own look a little more fabulous.
• We started with freshly cleansed skin and prepped with a light moisturizer. Hint: have you ever put on
concealer and had it break and crease under your eyes? You probably applied too much moisturizer, which will
mix with the concealer causing it to break down. The skin can only absorb so much so after allowing your
creams to soak in, blot off the excess with a tissue.
• Because Paige has near-perfect skin I wanted to simply blend her skin tones together for a creamy finish.
Using a foundation brush, I applied a small amount of a rich golden cream foundation to only the areas that
needed it, working from the center of her face and using a swirling motion.
