Professional painting began for Ann Zielinski many years ago. She was fortunate to receive instruction and critique from one of Canada's foremost artists, Jack Shadbolt. Since then she has had numerous publications and shows, and her art purchased by private and corporate collectors around North America, Europe and Asia.
Recently getting more international recognition, Zielinski has been honoured with many awards including the Bronze Medal of Honor at the AWS Annual in N.Y., two awards at the Knickerbocker National Show in Washington, D.C., the Jule Kullberg Award at the NWWS International Show in Seattle, 1st at the FCA Oil and Acrylic Show in Vancouver and 2nd at the International Napa Valley Open Competition in California.
Zielinski’s new acrylic paintings have evolved into intellectual and exquisite semi-abstractions influenced by the rocks, sandstone beaches, ocean and forests surrounding her home on Hornby Island, B.C., where she maintains her studio.
Ann Zielinski is a Senior Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists — the first of only two Canadian women to achieve Signature status in the American Watercolor Society ( NY) — a Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society (LA) and an international award winner.
