Bows, ribbons, tinsel,
flowers, mesh, wrapping paper, tissue, hooks, fake snow, pipe cleaners, gold-tinted fruit, hand-blown glass
ornaments, crystal icicles, yards of tiny multi-coloured lights – gah, I’m getting a headache! I bet you too
are thinking about preparing for the upcoming holidays. Christmas can be really overwhelming,
especially when you have to get your home festive.
This year, I absolutely love that romantic Hollywood-glamour look that’s popping up everywhere for Christmas.
Decorating your whole house with this trend can be expensive, and creating this theme can be tedious.
I’ve found an easy way to incorporate it into your home this holiday season and for less than $35.
When putting together a centrepiece, it all starts with a base. Pier 1 Imports’ Faux Crocodile
Tray for $15
is a steal. The faux crocodile pattern is so cool and encompasses this glamorous décor trend to the very
bite.
Adding different shapes and sizes of candles onto the tray adds depth and dimension to the table. Gorgeous
crimson candles would bring the romance theme alive. Also adding Crate&Barrel’s Mini Ornament Ball
Candles, with
their metallic stripes and swirls, would enhance the colour scheme ($7.95). Around the candles, you should
add ornaments like Crate&Barrel’s Glitter Balls ($5.95). These are simple but
edgy, which unites perfectly with the rest of the items to play up the Hollywood theme.
Finally, you can add your own touch by collecting discarded pinecones from your backyard. To go along with
the décor, you have to make them chic with silver and gold paint. Painting them with these hints of glitter
adds pizzazz to the dreary pinecones and a touch of the outdoors to your table.
