When I was a little girl my mother told me that a
lady’s fingernails should always be perfectly polished. This respect for my humble digits led to a loving
relationship with bottles of “Firetruck Red” and “Moonlight Shimmer” as my collection expanded over the
years.
Nail polish should do more than just reflect your outfits. It also serves as a canvas that sets the tone for
your seasonal look.
Every year, as the seasons change, polishes change to reflect the latest styles and trends. The look this
spring is ethereal. Ranging from nudes to pinks to light, shimmery pastels, these polishes look to showcase
the subtly feminine.
I suggest “You Don’t Know Jacques,” by the iconic Sephora by OPI polish line, for a completely nude look, or
perhaps “Run With It!” a sparkling dove shimmer by the same line that makes a subtle statement.
This style trend is an ideal time to jump on board the nail polish bandwagon. Nude spring polishes, unlike
their vampy winter-sisters, are far more forgiving to apply. They are also less bold, which encourages even
the most tentative of fashionistas to give them a go.
In addition to these stylistic benefits, a nude polish adds an overall impression of length to the hand –
good-bye stubby fingers and hello elegant, manicured hands! It’s always best to go with a classic, so buy a
bottle or two of your favourites to keep a little glamour at your fingertips.
