Vintage jewelry is exquisite and passing it down through
generations is a timeless tradition that celebrates personal memories that can’t be duplicated.
The jewelry company Dalla Nonna, which translates from Italian to mean “from the grandmother,” is designed by
Rebecca Richards and Jessica Bohrer. They were inspired by vintage pieces and fell in love with the
idea of taking something old and making it new again.
Dalla Nonna’s signature piece is the calendar necklace. Along with the vintage sentiment, the designers
wanted something to also acknowledge big dates. Some days deserve to be etched in something more permanent
and their 14-karat gold (rose, yellow and white) or sterling silver calendar pendant does just that.
What’s really intriguing about this is that you can designate the month and accent the date by adding a
sapphire on the day of your choosing. Dalla Nonna provides a unique way to commemorate a baby’s birth
date, an anniversary or any other special day in one’s life.
They also have it in a bracelet form, which puts a modern spin to it. The calendar pendant is on a 3 mm wide
faux suede bracelet that comes in seven colours — even movie star Jessica Alba has been sporting the bracelet
around Hollywood.
Dalla Nonna recently launched the charmed calendar bracelet. It’s similar to the original bracelet but now it
allows you to further customize the piece with charms. There are six different charms that one can
choose from like a heart, star and eye.
Mother’s Day is creeping up on us and I’m sure most of us haven’t really thought of something. This is
a great present for that day because now your mom, mother-in-law or grandmother can wear that special day
close to her heart.
Prices range from $150 to $600 and it will usually ship in three to six weeks — order soon, before time runs
