Ladies, if you thought it was difficult enough to
tear your boyfriend or husband away from the TV during Hockey Night in Canada, H-E Double-Hockey-Sticks, get
ready.
Now that the CBC has announced they will be broadcasting two games from the upcoming season in 3D, fans of
all ages are getting ready to sport yet another piece of fan gear: 3D glasses.
Mark these days on your calendar: Dec. 11 (the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs go head-to-head)
and Feb. 20 (the Calgary Flames host the Montreal Canadiens in the first outdoor NHL game held in Canada
since 2003).
We expect this news alone to help with the sales of 3D televisions around the country (along with sales for
those high-tech 3D glasses), because yes, you will need access to both to catch the high-flying action of
hockey in 3D.
Last season, the New York Islanders and New York Rangers debuted hockey in 3D so it will be interesting to
see the Canadian teams take a shot at it.
The question is where was this idea earlier this year, during the Winter Olympics for the epic Team Canada
and Team USA men’s hockey showdown? Ah well, better late than never.
